    Original Panshake

Designed by Sam, created together, using hand tools engineered by her father, the PanShake is a hand-crafted pendant that also works as a gentle shaker. Each PanShake is individually hand-assembled, giving every piece its own character and feel.

As told by Sam herself -

Thanks for checking out The Original Panshake.

I'd love to tell you all about them and how these shakers came to be.

I'm primarily a musician, absolutely love an instrument and always wanted to create  something I could easily have with me to play in social musical situations. I dreamt up how  I wanted this instrument to be and found that the perfect moment had arrive to create it!

I had the privilege of accompanying both my parents to the end of their lives. A part of my  life which held all the emotions under one umbrella.

I will fast forward my story past my beloved mother and onto my characterful very  intelligent father.. who, complained rather, about his life lasting so long!

He had a brilliant mind, precision engineer, dentist and inventor. It was clear that I needed  to put his active mind to "a good project!" As he would say. My aim was to bring him quality of life despite his physical restrictions.

The dream of my little instrument idea turned into reality, I drew it out on the back of an  envelope and showed my dad... and then, there was no stopping him, we were off!

We set up a "third" workshop area in the house at wheelchair height, and together we  started problem solving, creating, making, and perfecting Our Panshakes.

So...this is my brief story about the Original Panshake.

Built with guidance from my 93 year old father, such a clever man. He was the last  surviving founder, and designer of The Lotus Motorcar and creator of several other ground  breaking inventions. It has been a very nourishing and happy journey together.

Dad passed away in February 2025. But our Panshakes live on!

Rest easy, Dad.
